A 'Beer Biathlon?' Sign Me Up!
Participants in this 5K will make one lap around the Fox River, indulge in a brat, and finish at the beer tent as oompa-pa music is played.

The City of Waukesha Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department (WPRF), together with Silver Circle Sports Events announces registration is open for the “Wurst Beer Biathlon” taking place at the 1st Annual Waukesha Oktoberfest in Frame Park on Sat., Sept. 24, 2016 at 10:00 a.m.

Runners and walkers in this timed 5K will make one lap around the Fox River, indulge in a brat, and make the final lap where they will be greeted by the oompa-pa of the Erik Von Klaussen band in the beer tent.
A biathlon consists of two events and the “Wurst Beer Biathlon” will include the skill of running/walking along with the second event, eating the brat.

“What could be better than taking a couple of laps around the river in Frame Park on a Saturday morning,” said Katie Osborne, Event Manager for Silver Circle Sports. “Adding a brat to the event is like icing on the Oktoberfest pretzel.”
“If taking part in a biathlon has been on your bucket list,” said Special Events Coordinator for the City of Waukesha Parks, Recreation & Forestry Dept., “Here’s your chance to say you’ve done it… in a most unusual way.”

The “Wurst Beer Biathlon” is taking place during the City of Waukesha Oktoberfest. The Oktoberfest event is free and open to the public and will include German music, entertainment, activities, food, and beverages
The City of Waukesha Parks, Recreation and Forestry Dept. is celebrating 90 years of service and is a National Recreation and Park Association CAPRA Accredited and a Gold Medal agency.
