Buddy's Burgers & Custard Eyes Former Waukesha Murf's Location

On Wednesday, the Waukesha Plan Commission unanimously recommended approval for a conditional use permit.

WAUKESHA,WI — A former burger joint is getting a new flavor and a new name.

On Wednesday, the Waukesha Plan Commission unanimously recommended approval for a conditional use permit for Buddy's Burgers & Custard. The restaurant has plans to go into the former Murf’s Burgers & Custard, 1345 S. West Ave. Murf's closed its Waukesha location after 27 years.

Applicant John Suttner plans to sell fresh burgers, chicken, and other items, according to city documents.

He is planning on using the same building as a restaurant and drive-thru, as it was previously used by Murf’s. The hours of operation would be Sunday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

There will be 50 total employees, with the max number on one shift being 10.

The owner plans to only make minor updates to the restaurant, including changing the name to Buddy’s Burgers & Custard. There are 25 parking spaces available on site, which is under the required amount, the city documents said.
