Cousins Subs To Expand Throughout Wisconsin And Illinois Following Successful Rebranding Efforts

MENOMONEE FALLS - With the success of its recent rebranding and remodeling efforts, local chain Cousins Subs announced today that they will expand their franchise network in Wisconsin and Illinois.

President and CEO Christine Specht said in a press release that the business is expanding throughout the Midwest, with a specific focus in the Chicagoland area.

The new streamlined look and rebranding initiative was launched in the spring of 2016 and lead to increased sales and volume, which led to three new franchise groups joining Cousins in the last year.

Joining Cousins are brothers Amit and Kalpesh Patel of Chicago and Munster, Ind., who joined late March and own 50 quick-service restaurants and 40 gas stations/convenience stores in the Midwest. The Patels are the first group to develop in the Chicago area, with a multi-unit investment of 10 stores over the next four years.

Also joining the Cousins team in March are Chad Ellett and Randy Fusch, both of Reedsburg, along with Mike Gilbertson of South Beloit, Ill. The three have operated two quick service restaurants in Wisconsin and have purchased two of Cousins' corporate locations in Madison. The group have an opportunity to purchase a third location in the future and already have signed an agreement to open two new stores over the next two years between Madison and Rockford, Ill.

Father-son duo John Stewart Sr., the former owner of Food Services Incorporated, and John Stewart Jr. joined Cousins in November and purchased both locations in Sheboygan and a third in Mequon. The Stewarts have expressed interest in growing the brand throughout Wisconsin and the Chicago area.
