Crafty Cow To Replace Hue Vietnamese Restaurant In Wauwatosa

WAUWATOSA, WI—Crafty Cow, which specializes in burgers and Jucy Lucy burgers, is hoping to to open this summer in the former Hue Restaurant space at 6519 W. North Ave. According to the Wauwatosa Government Affairs agenda, an application for a liquor and beer license by Crafty Cow Tosa at 6519 W North Avenue is listed for Tuesday's meeting.

Hue closed in early April. The owners released a statement on April 6:

"Our Hue Asian Kitchen Food Truck will continue to be present over the summer at The Landing at Hoyt Park and other locations. We want to thank the Wauwatosa community for its support over the last seven years. While the COVID Pandemic has certainly been challenging, this closure is due to the expiration of our lease and has been part of a reorganization plan started in 2019 withthe purchase of the former Sven's Café land and building at 2699 S Kinnickinnic Ave inBay View," the release said.

Crafty Cow opened its first location in Oconomowoc in 2014. They expanded with a location in Bay View in 2016. Patch reached out to the owners of Crafty Cow on Monday afternoon but haven't heard a response.

"Crafty Cow is a family owned and operated restaurant, located in Oconomowoc and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Crafty Cow specializes in Jucy Lucy style burgers. We serve antibiotic, hormone free, USDA approved, vegetarian fed, humanely raised, midwest born and bred beef. We strive to serve as many midwest made products as we possibly can, from our food to our beverage program," according to the restaurant's website.

• Southern Belle: Pimento Cheese Topped: Fried Brussel Sprouts, Pulled Pork Belly, Honey Butter, Tomato Spread.
• Quatro B: Bone Marrow Butter, Hickery Smoked Beer Brisket, Truffled Garlic Aioli, Caramelized Onion.
• If Looks Could Kale: Muenster Topped: Grilled Artichoke, Caramelized Onion, Kale Pesto Aioli, Harvest Greens, On a Cheddar and Onion Bialy.
