1 Dead, 1 Seriously Injured In I-94 Crash Friday Morning

The Wisconsin State Patrol delivered an update this morning on an I-94 crash in Waukesha County.

WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI — Authorities in Waukesha County say one person is dead and another is seriously injured following a Friday-morning crash on I-94.

According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, troopers responded to an accident on I-94 west near Highway 67 at about 9:40 a.m.

A preliminary report from the State Patrol indicated that a vehicle heading east struck a vehicle heading west. One of the vehicles caught fire. First-responding firefighters quelled the blaze as rescue personnel extricated several people trapped in both vehicles.

The State Patrol confirmed that person has died due to this crash. At this time the exact reason of the crash is unknown, authorities said.

The State Patrol Technical Reconstruction Unit is working to determine more factors that lead to the crash, and is employing a drone to record aerial views of the accident scene.
