WAUKESHA, WI — In May 2014, 19-year-old Archie Badura died of an accidental overdose. On the day of his burial, family members jumped into water fully clothed in his memory, letting Archie know his death would not be in vain and that they would help raise awareness of the opioid crisis in his name.

His family later started the “Jump for Archie” action and change campaign to highlight opioid dangers and the toll addiction takes on families.

Live music, food and a fun community atmosphere will accompany a candlelight vigil; free Naloxone (Narcan) and QPR trainings, five public group jumps into Lac La Belle; and resource tables focusing on addiction, mental health and suicide prevention.
