"We are very thankful to have been able to provide entertainment for many family movie nights, and want to thank the people of Wisconsin and our incredible staff for the many years of support and service.", Hoogland said in a release. Family Video has served their communities with all of their entertainment needs for over three decades. While we are closing our doors in Wisconsin, you can still visit us at our website www.familyvideo.com to purchase movies, games, CBD products and other merchandise."
The store will officially close when inventory is sold out.
Hoogland said the company has enjoyed being part of our employees' and customers' lives and communities for the last 42 years.
What began as a handful of 500 square foot video rental locations, grew to 800 locations with up to 7,000 square feet of video rental and retail.
"Surviving 10 years longer than the big 3, Blockbuster, Movie Gallery and Hollywood Video, we were among the few that started with Beta, moved on to VHS and remained a part of the DVD & Blu-Ray Era," Hoogland said in the letter.
Hoogland said his proudest moments are those where employees and customers came together to support the community through grass roots events, report card successes, holiday me& donations and the support of lymphoma research and education.
"While we are disappointed in the closing of Family Video, we will remain tied to our communities through our Legacy Commercial Property division, owning and managing buildings in the community," he said.
