Get Rid Of Electronics, Appliances In Waukesha: Here's How
The City of Waukesha is hosting drop off events for appliances.
WAUKESHA, WI— Residents looking to get rid of electronics like televisions can do so at two upcoming events.
The City of Waukesha is holding television, electronics and appliance drop off events. The city has teamed up with Legacy Recycling to collect those items.
The events are open to any resident from any community. Residents are asked to enter at 600 Sentry Drive on the following dates:

Saturday, July 3 from 9 a.m. to noon
Saturday, Oct. 2 from 9 a.m. to noon
Certain electronics (including television sets) are banned from landfills by state law and should not be placed in the garbage or recycling at home or work.

What are options for residents?
For computers, computer parts, flat screen computer monitors, DVD players, VCRs, clock radios, and all other electronics which are not television sets or CRT computer monitors – these may be taken to community drop-off events, or to companies currently accepting electronics.
For TVs
- Recycle Technologies (Springdale Rd. and Watertown Plank Rd. in Brookfield) will take TVs for a fee.
- Best Buy may accept TVs for a fee up to 32” screen size.
- St. Vincent De Paul’s may take TVs and computer monitors for a fee depending on sizes.
- For a pickup option at home, residents may try a disposal company like “1-800-Got-Junk” or “The Junk Shuttle” to come and pick up their items.
