Joe Schobert Football Camp Set To Begin Second Year In Waukesha

The Joe Schobert Football Camp will take place at Waukesha West High School on Saturday, July 13 in two separate camps.

WAUKESHA, WI — Starting next week, athletes from third through twelfth grade will learn skills and tips from experienced football players and role models, as well as play and meet other student athletes from around the state!

A Waukesha West graduate, Joe Schobert set the all-time rush leading record at the 2010 WIAA State Champtionship game. He continued his football career being a walk-on to the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

From there, he became an All-American, the Defensive Player of the year in the Big Ten and the 2015 Jack Lambert award winner for the nation's top linebacker.

In 2016 he was drafted as the 99th pick to the Cleveland Browns. In his first three years in the NFL Joe has went from a special teams player to the Browns starting middle linebacker with two straight seasons of over 100 tackles, leading the NFL with 144 in 2017 and one Pro Bowl appearance.

The Joe Schobert Football Camp will take place at Waukesha West High School on Saturday, July 13 in two separate camps for youth and high school levels. Both camps will be equipped with staff of Waukesha West High School coaches, Wisconsin Badger football players and NFL players.

Schedule

Youth Football 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

During this 3 hour camp experience, athletes will participate in football drills, 7-on-7 games and various competitions. The registration fee also includes a camp T-shirt, and awards. Participants must be entering 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th or 8th grade in the fall. There will be a photo and autograph opportunity at the end of camp. No pads or equipment needed.

High School Football 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

High school campers will go more in depth, learning technique and fundamentals from athletes who have played their positions at the highest level. A 7 on 7 tournament will wrap up camp with awards to follow. The registration fee also includes a camp T-shirt. Participants must be entering 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade in the fall. There will be a photo and autograph opportunity at the end of camp. No pads or equipment needed.
