Live 'Pi Day' Auction For 3-Year-Old Child Abuse Victim

BROOKFIELD, WI —Family of three-year-old girl Charlie Rose say she's slowly recovering after a life-threatening abuse case in early February.

Authorities say she was brought via flight for life to Children's Hospital on Feb. 8. Police say Rose suffered life-threatening injuries at the hands of a 25-year-old man who was once her caregiver.

"She is one tough cookie and even though Charlie is stable now, the bills and therapy will continue as she is not in the clear yet. It will be a long road to recovery, but, one day at a time. We are thankful she is alive and can not wait for her to be back to her spunky self," family wrote on Charlie's Go Fund Me page.

Charlie's family, with the help of the Lake Country Shorewest Office is trying to help the family out in a unique way on March 14, known by many as "International Pi Day" because today's calendar date corresponds roughly to the first digits of the mathematical expression of Pi: 3.14 ...

The family is rallying around Charlie to help raise funds as well as create awareness for the need of child abuse prevention through "Team Charlie." They are holding a live Facebook pie auction today from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with more than 60 donated pies.

When you see a pie that they're auctioning, off all you need to do is hit the comment section and place your bid, organizers say.
