A Love Letter To Betty Lombardi Tio

"I have been so blessed everyday of my 64 years to be able to call this woman my momma."

To celebrate Valentine’s Day, we asked Patch readers to write a love letter to that special someone and let us deliver it. This is Susan Hughes’ love letter to her mother, Betty:

“My love is my 89-year-old momma Betty Lombardi Tio. She is the love of my life. She lives every day for her family and friends. She still volunteers at Waukesha Memorial Hospital and on Thursday mornings she has a following of people who come for their weekly hug. She ziplined in Jamaica for her 86th birthday and skydived for her 87th. She lives each day with gusto. Her plan for her 90th is to go back to Vegas for another photo with the Chippendales.

She has always been there for her family and has never judged. I am her only child and she has two granddaughters, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. I have been so blessed every day of my 64 years to be able to call this woman my momma. I can not think of a better love story.”
