Missing Waukesha Man Considered Endangered: Report

Police say Abel left his home in Waukesha at 5 p.m. on Jan. 21 to visit his brother in Wausau, and has yet to arrive.

WAUKESHA, WI — Authorities in the Waukesha area are asking for the public's help in finding a missing 66-year-old man.

According to Waukesha Police, they've issued a Silver Alert for John Abel, a 66-year-old man. Authorities say he was last seen on the night of Jan. 21, when he talked with his brother while he was at the St. Vincent de Paul store on Sunset Drive in Waukesha.

Police say Abel left his home in Waukesha at 5 p.m. on Jan. 21 to visit his brother in Wausau, and has yet to arrive.

Police have provided the following description of Abel:

Abel stands 5-foot-8, weighs about 247 pounds, and has hazel eyes, brown hair, and a large scar under his chin/neck.

Abel was driving a 2006 Silver Volvo XC70, with a Wisconsin license plate 173-ZEK.

Police say the vehicle has a missing rear bumper shield, and it appears as if he was rear-ended.
