The David A Straz Jr. Foundation has recently gifted Ascension Hospitals their third round of 5,000 meals, to help feed and support their frontline workers. Mo’s Irish Pub, 10842 W. Bluemound Rd., has stepped in to create meals that help support workers’ nutrition and immune systems, according to a news release.

"We are excited once again to work day to day with our partners at the David A Straz Jr. Foundation and Ascension Wisconsin Hospital. This latest gift of 5,000 meals will bring us up to 15,000 total meals for the frontline workers. We couldn’t be prouder to participate and contribute to the greater Milwaukee/South Wisconsin communities," Johnny Vassallo, Owner of Mo's Irish Pub, said.

Mo’s meals include a Power Salad, made up of diced grilled chicken, pepper jack cheese, craisins and pineapple on a bed of chopped romaine, baby kale and baby arugula. Topped with toasted almonds, sunflower seeds and grated cauliflower. Along with the salad, they are also serving a custom recipe, made from scratch, Chicken & Rice Soup with turmeric and oregano.

"Turmeric is an excellent source of curcumin, an antioxidant that helps ease inflammation and help boost your immune system. Oregano has powerful antiviral and antibacterial infection properties," a news release said.

The meals from Mo’s will be delivered to caregivers safely with a no touch distribution.

The David A. Straz Jr. Foundation, in partnership Mo’s Irish Pub, look forward feeding the frontline and giving them the extra boost, they may need in this dire time, the release said.
