WAUKESHA, WI — A 49-year-old Waukesha woman working as a flight attendant has been arrested and charged with public intoxication after police say passengers were "scared for their lives" when she passed out during a recent flight.

According to a Washington Post report, Julianne March was working on a United Express flight on Aug. 2 when passengers became concerned over an apparent medical condition.

A South Bend Tribune report stated that March fell asleep in the jump seat of the plane following takeoff. A New York Post article stated the pilot couldn't get in touch with March. A passenger told the post that, "the whole plane … noticed something was wrong. The attendant’s phone rang multiple times without her answering it."

She was arrested when the plane touched down in South Bend. Officers learned she may have been intoxicated and conducted a preliminary breath test. That test returned a blood alcohol concentration of 0.20 percent. When questioned by authorities, March reportedly told officers that she had two vodka shooters before work that morning.

Aaron Scherb, director of legislative affairs at Common Cause, was on the plane, and published a tweet when he saw the flight attendant's struggles.

According to an ABC report, March is no longer flying for Air Wisconsin. She was a probationary flight attendant and was only on the job for a few months.

Video obtained by ABC shows March passed out on the plane, and commentary from a passenger saying that others on the plane had to fasten the flight attendant's seat belt.
