ProHealth Care to resume construction of Mukwonago hospital
The project is transforming the campus at 240 Maple Ave. into a full community hospital with 24 inpatient beds to serve people in the area.
ProHealth Care will resume construction of its new hospital in Mukwonago and expects to be able to open it by late this year or early next year.
Construction was paused last spring as the health care system focused its time and resources on the challenges presented by the pandemic.
The project is transforming ProHealth’s medical campus at 240 Maple Ave. into a full community hospital with 24 inpatient beds to serve people in Mukwonago and surrounding communities. Construction will resume as soon as crews and equipment can return to the site.

The work that remains includes completion of the inpatient rooms, surgical areas and a full-service kitchen and dining area, as well as installation of equipment.
Other medical services on the campus have remained open throughout the pandemic, including the ProHealth Medical Group clinic, urgent care services, the emergency department and the UW Health Cancer Center at ProHealth Care. Others services on the campus include cardiac diagnostics, physical and occupational therapy, sports medicine, diagnostic imaging, mammography and laboratory services.

The hospital is expected to add about 100 new jobs in the community. ProHealth will be filling various clinical positions as well as positions in maintenance, food service and other areas.
Construction of the hospital began in February 2019. A new main entrance with a welcoming glass façade, a new lobby and main corridor opened in December 2019.
