'Reflections of Vietnam' Opening In Waukesha This Weekend

The display is part of a program conducted by the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 351.

WAUKESHA, WI— "Reflections of Vietnam," a traveling display of Vietnam War artifacts will be on display at the Rotary Building, located at 1150 Baxter St., from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday and Monday, according to the Waukesha Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department.

The display is part of a program conducted by the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 351. The display takes place in conjunction with The Moving Wall, the nationally touring, half-sized replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.

“The display contains artifacts such as uniforms, flags, C-rations, and photos of the men from Chapter 351 who served in Vietnam,” said Joanna Adamicki, special events coordinator. “Attendees will have the opportunity to talk with the Veterans, hear their stories, and gain greater understanding as they experience of The Moving Wall.”

“The Moving Wall,” will be on display Thursday beginning at noon near the Amphitheater in Frame Park and remain open 24 hours each day through Memorial Day, closing at 6 a.m. June 1. An Opening Ceremony will take place at 6 p.m. on Thursday at the amphitheater.

“The Moving Wall” display includes the names of more than 58,000 servicemen and women who gave their lives in service during the Vietnam Conflict. The memorial includes 68 Waukesha County natives, with 14 from the City of Waukesha. For more information visit the “The Moving Wall" on the city's website.
