Teen Pleads Not Guilty by Reason of Mental Defect or Disease in Slender Man Attack

Her accomplice in the attack pleaded not guilty last year

WAUKESHA -- Morgan Geyser, one of two girls accused of trying to kill a 12-year-old-classmate to please fictional character Slender Man two years ago, is pleading not guilty by reason of mental defect or disease.

According to the Chicago Tribune, Geyser, now 14, entered her plea Friday in Waukesha county. Judge Michael Bohren then ordered doctors to examine her.

Her accomplice pleaded not guilty last year.

Both of the girls have been charged with attempted homicide as adults and Geyser's attorney, Tony Cotton, said Friday that he has dropped efforts to move the case to juvenile court.
