Three Doors Down Guitarist Matt Roberts Found Dead in West Bend

WEST BEND -- Matt Roberts, former guitarist for the band 3 Doors Down, was found dead at a hotel in West Bend.

CNN reports the 38-year-old was with his father where he was scheduled to perform at Rockin' for Heroes, a benefit for veterans.

Darrell Roberts, Matt's father, said he and his son were staying in different rooms in the same hotel and police knocked on his door Saturday morning to inform him of his son's death.

A cause of death has not been determined and an autopsy is scheduled. Darrell Roberts had speculated that it may have been drug-related, as his son struggled with anxiety and a prescription medication addiction since joining the popular.

3 Doors Down gained fame in the early 2000s with their hits "Kryptonite," "Here without You," and "When I'm Gone."
