UWM at Waukesha hosts Summer Youth Programs in 2021
There's still time to join in the STEM camps this summer!

UWM at Waukesha Continuing Education is thrilled to host Summer camps in 2021! From elementary school children to high schoolers, they have a wide variety of STEM based programs to entice all ages.
Director Holly Wehrhahn boasts, "Our STEM programs are designed to meet the needs of highly motivated students between the ages of 8 and 18. After having two successful camps at both of our campuses (managing UWM at Washington County camps as well) this June, we are confident we can continue to provide the quality programming our communities need."
During the week of June 12-14, students were launched into the world of Entrepreneurship when they were asked to solve a real world issue and design a product prototype that would later be 3D printed. With their product in mind, students were then asked to create a website or app to market their new product and business.

The following week, students were introduced to new opportunities to explore civil engineering! Through the use of Minecraft and Mindstorm & WeDo LEGO sets, students developed functional buildings and transportation systems (Minecraft) and built and coded bulldozers and cranes with LEGOS. "The student's ingenuity and skills are mind blowing to watch! It's hard not to get caught up in their excitement while watching them try out their designs. We are really proud of what our students have accomplished so far this summer and can't wait to see what the rest of the summer will hold!" says program manager, Abby Streicher. She continues, "We have so much more fun and learning to offer this summer and hope to see more students join in!"
In the coming weeks, UWM at Waukesha will be offering:
