'A Very Heroic Act' Grandma Says Of Waukesha Grandson

WAUKESHA, WI—When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we’re working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.

This submission comes from Sherri Kasdorf who nominated her grandson, Benjamen D. Kasdorf of Waukesha.

Relationship to nominee: He is my grandson

Reason for recognition: He saved a young man’s life in Port Washington. The young man was drowning and Ben jumped into the turbulent waters and saves his life. Ben worked for 2 summers as a lifeguard, so he had the necessary skills. It was indeed a very heroic act.

One thing to know: How brave, selfless and humble he is.
