Waukesha County Board To Mull End Of Pandemic State of Emergency
Waukesha County Executive Farrow expedited the consideration of the resolution one month early.

WAUKESHA, WI— The Waukesha County Board of Supervisors will consider an ordinance to end the State of Emergency declaration in Waukesha County at 7 p.m. Tuesday night, according to the meeting agenda.
Waukesha County Executive Paul Farrow initiated the process to end the State of Emergency related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The proclamation ensured the county had funding mechanisms in place.
Previously, the ordinance was scheduled to be considered on June 22. According to the County Board, Farrow requested that "the Board of Supervisors expedite consideration of the resolution one month early. If passed, the County Executive can sign to end the declaration on Wednesday, May 26."

The State of Emergency, which is not tied to an order, was declared on March 12, 2020. It allowed the county to facilitate and expedite the use of resources to protect residents from the impacts of the spread of COVID-19 while ensuring continuity of critical operations within Waukesha County.
"The proclamation declaring a State of Emergency ensured that the County had funding mechanisms in place allowing us to boost our public health infrastructure to historic levels as we responded to the pandemic," Waukesha County Executive Paul Farrow said in a previous statement.
