Words Of Love: 'Our Blackshirts Are Strong; We Are Brave'
By any standard imaginable, it was a rough week to be a student in Waukesha. Today, we share some love from the community.
WAUKESHA, WI — By any standard imaginable, it was a rough week to be a student in Waukesha. Many people will remember the traumatic events of this week's officer-involved shooting at Waukesha South for the rest of their lives. A report of a student with a gun at Waukehsha North only added to the stress this week.
We reached out to the Waukesha community for words of support during this difficult time. We are grateful when more than 30 people came forward to share their feelings. Among those who responded are parents, friends, loved ones and complete strangers.
Comments such as, "you are stronger than you think," and "thank you student for acting and getting help. we all can learn from that courageous act," and " not only are our blackshirts STRONG, we are BRAVE" are just three perspectives that were offered.

Thoughts, prayers and thanks to the staff, students and officers. Stay strong!
Waukesha, That's where I call home.
Proud of Waukesha in whole.
First and foremost we cannot imagine the hell the students went through during this time, then the parents who received texts from their children.
Thank you to all of the teachers, that made sure their students were safe.
The school resource officer, Waukesha Police Department, thank you for doing what you do and for only wounding the student and not killing him.
We support every action 100% and thank you for finally showing a positive to the community.
Thank you to all involved.
To the 17 year old boy who was tired of being bullied and pushed to become angry and had enough. I hope he gets the help he needs, I’m sure he’ll spend a good part of his life in prison.
To high school Bully’s- STOP

My heart aches for everyone involved in this tragedy. I wish that I had the solution, but I don't. Please, if you are having bad thoughts, talk to your parents. If you can't talk to your parents, reach out to an adult that you trust. I'm very proud of Waukesha and all the people that make it a great place to live. I'm so impressed with the way the students, teachers, resource Officers and the Police, for the way they handled this tragedy.

Thank you student for acting and getting help. We all can learn from that courageous act! The system worked and that system is a community of people - students are a key part of the system!! Thank you South staff for acting quickly and in the best interest of everyone. Thank you administration for staying on task and communicating as you did. Taking the time to publish a statement any sooner than you did would have taken you away from where you needed to be. Thank you public safety officers for running straight into danger and minimizing its effects. We are grateful for all of you and pray for wisdom for all of us as we proceed.

As a Waukesha South alumni, with a Son currently attending South, I can proudly say that not only are our blackshirts STRONG, we are BRAVE.
December, 2nd was the most difficult day of my life, as I’m sure it was for all of our South parents. “See something say something” saved our children’s lives that day, and we will stand together in continued strength, and a united front.
GO BLACKSHIRTS!
