Cedar-Fairmount Festival, Concert In Coventry And More Things To Do In Cleveland Heights

A summer festival in Cedar-Fairmount, a free concert in Coventry and more events are on tap in Cleveland Heights this week.

It's Monday, and that means we've put together this list of things going on in Cleveland Heights to help make your week a little brighter, easier and more fun. For more things to do this week, look at the Patch calendar of events.

1. City Council Meets Monday

The Cleveland Heights City Council will hold its regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5 at City Hall. Of particular note on the agenda is a vote to officially put Move To Amend Cleveland Heights' resolution against Citizens United on the November Ballot.

2. CH-UH School Board Meets Tuesday

The Cleveland Heights - University Heights Board Of Education meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the district office. The agenda is not published yet, but Cleveland Heights Patch will let you know what's going on as soon as it's available.

3. The Flavor Performs Free Concert In Coventry

The Flavor, a Cleveland-based blues-rock band, will play a free concert in Coventry from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6. The concert will be in parking lot No. 15, which is between Marc's and Heights Cleaners. 

4. Kids Pick Of The Week: Cave Painting At Noble Branch Library

There's a fun-filled and education cave-painting event scheduled for Friday, Aug. 9 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Cleveland Heights Library Noble Branch. The event is for kids 12 and under and will teach children how to cave paint with inspiration from the famous Lascaux Caves paintings.

Registration is required and there's still spots available. Register online at the library website or call 216-291-5665.

5. Weekend Spotlight: Cedar-Fairmount Festival Is Sunday

The 12th Annual Discover Cedar Fairmount Festival and Arts & Craft Show is set for Sunday, Aug. 11 from noon until 5 p.m. The family-oriented festival will include arts and crafts, live music and entertainment, food and much more. With the Coventry festival canceled in July, Cleveland Heights Police are monitoring social media to make sure the festival will be safe.
