Robbers Carjack Couple Unloading Groceries In University Heights
A pair of armed, masked men robbed a couple on Fenwick Road after they came home from grocery shopping.
UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, OH — Armed robbers stole a car from a couple unloading groceries at their home on Fenwick Road on Tuesday night.
At approximately 7 p.m., a couple were taking groceries from their car into home when two masked men approached them. The men pointed guns at the couple, told them to look away, and then stole their car, University Heights police said.
No one was hurt during the robbery, police said.

The stolen car — a 2018 Subaru Forrester — was seen going west on Hillbrook Road after the robbery. One of the victims had left their cell phone in the car, which police pinged to try and track the stolen vehicle. The phone was found on Cedar Road, where it was discovered on the street. The phone was collected as evidence by police.
The robbers were both young men, possibly between the ages of 16 and 18, police said. The men were wearing black, long sleeved sweatshirts, black pants and black masks. The duo also had on either black hats or their hoods were pulled up, police added.

A gray or tan van was seen following the couple as they drove home. The van parked at the end of the street before the robbery and police believe the suspects were driving the van. It is possible the suspects followed the couple home after they went grocery shopping, police said.
