City Council on July Recess
There will be no City Council nor Council Committee of the Whole meetings in July. The next City Council meeting takes place on August 2.
Free admission to Cain Park Arts Festival
The 2021 Cain Park season welcomes everyone back to live outdoor performances with the Arts Festival July 9-11, followed by Apollo’s Fire Baroque Orchestra on July 13, Tom Chapin and the Chapin Sisters on July 15, and Mary Bridget Davies on July 16. Public Meeting about Historic Preservation Design Guidelines on July 13
Join the Cleveland Heights Planning Department and consultant Naylor Wellman to learn about the Historic Preservation Design Guidelines project, review a draft of the guidelines, ask questions, and provide comments. The meeting will be held virtually on July 13 at 6pm. The link to join the meeting can be found on the Cleveland Heights Calendar. Drive-Through Mobile Pantry at First Baptist Church July 10
The Greater Cleveland Food Bank will provide produce and dairy on Saturday, July 10 at First Baptist Church (3630 Fairmount Blvd.) Distribution will be a drive-through only event from 10am to 12 noon, rain or shine. Those interested are asked to bring a valid ID and to have their car trunk space cleaned out in advance. Upcoming dates include August 7 and September 11.
Cedar Fairmount Summer Fun
Cedar Fairmount celebrates summer with free Music Thursdays on July 15 from 7 to 8:30pm with IN2ATIVE with Esther Nahm at Luna Bakery & Café. Family Fun Arts/Entertainment takes place on July 17 from 2 to 4pm including hands-on art projects, Hallucinogenic Pachyderm line dancing, Heights Library Book Bike, and visiting with the Cleveland Heights Police and Fire Departments. GardenWalk Cleveland Heights July 17-18
GardenWalk Cleveland Heights is an annual, free, self-guided tour that introduces visitors to the beauty of the city through the variety of residents’ gardens on July 17 and 18 from noon to 5pm. It’s a great way to meet your neighbors, explore gardens and share gardening advice. Be sure to stop by the local cafes and restaurants on the GardenWalk list.
Board of Elections Issues Notice of Primary Election
A Special Congressional Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, August 3 in every precinct of the 11th Congressional District to nominate one Democratic candidate and one Republican candidate to run in the September 14 Primary Election. The polls open at 6:30am and close at 7:30pm. To find your voting location, please visit the Board of Elections website.
