Cleveland Bridge Over Doan Brook To Be Rehabilitated

The St. Clair Avenue bridge will be updated in 2021, according to Cuyahoga County.

CLEVELAND — Cuyahoga County will rehabilitate the St. Clair Avenue bridge which stretches over Doan Brook in Cleveland. Crews will repair the bridge's stone masonry and reconstruct its channel walls.

The St. Clair Avenue bridge has a 20-foot clear span, a 150-foot long semicircular stone arch buried in over 20 feet of fill, the county said. Crews will rehabilitate the slip-lining of the arch, fix the stone masonry and rebuild the right channel walls and the right forward wingwall. The construction would prompt changes to traffic flow.

During the work, at least one lane of traffic in each direction will always be maintained, the county said. Construction will start spring 2021 and will last approximately seven months. Access to Rockefeller Park will be restricted near the bridge. Access to the rest of the park will be maintained.
