Cleveland Heights Hires New Planning Director

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — Eric Zamft has been hired as the new planning department director for Cleveland Heights.

Zamft will come to Cleveland Heights from Port Chester, New York, where he has spent the past five years in planning and economic development. His career in city planning began with internships in 1996.

"We are happy to welcome Eric to the team and I am confident he will be up and running in no time. He is slated to report to work at the end of January," said City Manager Susanna Niermann.

Zamft has a Masters Degree in City Planning - Land Use and Transportation from the University of Pennsylvania. He is an AICP-certified planner with two decades of experience in a wide range of studies, including land use, zoning, economic development, transportation, community development and housing and more.

"I am excited to join the Cleveland Heights community in a few short weeks," Zamft said. "I visited friends in Cleveland Heights a few years back and fell in love with this city. To be able to move here and help usher the city into the future is a great honor and privilege."
