Complete Casting Announced For 'Ragtime' At Cain Park

With a robust cast of 25, the production is expected to debut on June 14 at the Cleveland Heights park.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — Cleveland's own Roderick Lawrence will lead the upcoming production of "Ragtime" at Cain Park.

Lawrence, who was part of the national tour of "The Lion King," has been performing in New York City and Los Angeles and is making a special trip home to be part of the show. The production's official opening is June 14, with shows running until June 30.

The robust cast for the show features 25 actors and actresses. The production is being directed by Joanna May Cullinan with musical direction by Jordan Cooper and choreography by Imani Jackson.

"Ragtime tells the story of three families in the pursuit of the American Dream," Cain Park said in a press release. "Together, they confront history's timeless contradictions of wealth and poverty, freedom and prejudice, hope and despair...and what it means to live in America."

Tickets for the show are $25 for the June 13 preview and $32 in advance for all other performances. Tickets can be bought through Ticketmaster or at the Cain Park Ticket Office, starting June 4. Performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 7 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Sundays. Cain Park is located at 14591 Superior Road.
