Coronavirus In Cleveland Heights: Update On Schools, ZIP Code

ZIP codes associated with Cleveland Heights have seen COVID-19 cases nearly double since mid-November.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — There have been more than 1,600 COVID-19 cases associated with a Cleveland Heights ZIP code, according to the Ohio Department of Health.

Since the start of the pandemic, the 44118 ZIP code has been home to 1,632 COVID-19 cases. That's up from 834 COVID-19 cases in mid-November.

Another ZIP code which touches Cleveland Heights, 44121, has had 1,489 COVID-19 cases among residents. That's up from 870 in mid-November.

The virus has also been reaching into schools.

According to the Heights Schools' state-mandated dashboard, two staffers and one student have tested positive for the virus since Dec. 2.

Since Sept. 3, 19 staffers and 12 students have tested positive for COVID-19. Four staffers and eight students contracted the virus while in remote education and did not step foot in school building or facility.
