Free Holiday Concert Coming To Cleveland Heights Church
Fairmount Presbyterian will hold the "How Great Our Joy" event on Dec. 7.

From Fairmount Choir:The Fairmount Choir of Fairmount Presbyterian Church, Cleveland Heights, will present a holiday concert, “How Great Our Joy,” on Friday, December 7 at 7:30 p.m. The free program will feature works by Mack Wilberg, John Rutter, Dan Forrest and other contemporary composers of sacred choral repertoire.
According to Artistic Director Leah Wyman, one of the most distinguishing features of this outreach is the diversity of its participants: “We have students from Shaker High School singing alongside musicians from Cleveland Institute of Music, Oberlin, and Baldwin Wallace and professional instrumentalists. We’re united in our love and desire to share this beautiful music of the season.”
While Fairmount’s music ministry enjoys a century-old history of excellence—with a 100 rank Schantz pipe organ—today the church is expanding the circle of music considered sacred to incorporate jazz, gospel, world and contemporary music alongside traditional church music.“We’re cultivating a music program that is inclusive, innovative and relevant. We also honor our musical tradition in reformed worship—nothing is off limits. There’s room for all of it.”
