Guitar Virtuoso Plays At Nighttown And More Weekend Fun In Cleveland Heights

Cleveland Heights has some great weekend events, from concerts to free movie screenings, to keep your family entertained.

There's plenty of things to do in Cleveland Heights this weekend.
 
Whether you are looking for live music, family-friendly entertainment or other ways to enjoy your free time, this weekend planner has some great events for you to check out.

1. Brazilian Guitar Virtuoso Performs At Nighttown

You want to see some impressive, fast-fingered guitar work? Check out Brazilian guitarist Diego Figueiredo, who is playing at 8:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Nighttown.

Tickets are $20 for each show. Check out some Youtube vidoes of Figueiredo in action.

2. 'Pee Wee's Big Adventure' Screens at Lee Road Library

The Lee Road Library is showing a free screening of "Pee Wee's Big Adventure" at 6:30 p.m. Friday. 

Starring Paul Rubin as the boy-man Pee Wee Herman, the movie tells the tale of Pee Wee's quest to find his awesome bike. Hijinks, of course, ensue. 

The event is free but registration is requested. Visit the library website or call 216-932-3600 to register.

3. Check Out Singing Angels At Cain Park

The Singing Angels are performing a free concert 4 p.m. Sunday at Evans Amphitheater at Cain Park.

Made up of more 300 children between the ages of 6 and 18, the Singing Angels have toured the world, performing in more than 30 countries. They've played at the White House, in China and sang three times at the Vatican. 

Members hail from over 74 communities in 10 counties across northeast Ohio.  

4. Pick Up Cleveland Heights Tigers Athletic Gear At Sale

What better way to kick off a new season with spirit than by picking up some Heights Tigers T-shirts and other apparel? The Heights Gear online shop offers tons of items for sale. 

Heights Gear is offering an early bird, back-to-school sale Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Room 106 of Coventry School.

5. Sunday Yoga & Drum Circle in Coventry

Have some fun in Coventry on Sunday with a free yoga class and then participate in the community drum circle.

The yoga class runs from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the PEACE Park and is for all skill levels. 

The drum circle starts at 7 p.m. Bring your own drum or head over to City Buddha or Passport to Peru and save 10 percent on a drum purchase by mentioning the Coventry Drum Circle.
