Heights High Football Still Ranked No. 8 Despite Victory
The Heights Tigers have a better record than four teams above them in the OHSAA rankings.

SOLON, OH — The Heights High Tigers may have dominated their Friday night match-up, but the victory failed to impress the computers responsible for the Ohio High School Athletic Association's rankings. The Tigers are still No. 8 in their region heading into the final week of regular season play.
Heights High is currently 8-1 on the season, the fourth best record in the region. However, the Tigers are caught behind four teams with inferior records (three squads with 7-2 records, one with a 6-3 record). The computers believe the victories notched by the teams above Heights High are more impressive than the Tigers eight victories.
That ranking leaves the Tigers in a precarious position. The team finds itself in a near must-win situation heading into the final week of the season.

So, on Friday night, the Tigers will face-off with Maple Heights. A win could punch Heights High's ticket into the playoffs. A loss could exclude the team from the postseason. A lot will be riding on Friday night's game.
For Maple Heights, a team with a strong record, it will be senior night. Both Maple Heights and Cleveland Heights could win their conference title with a victory. To recognize the immense consequences of Friday night's contest, the Cleveland Browns have nominated the match-up for their game of the week.
