CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — The postseason hopes of the Heights High football team rested on a final week of play. The Tigers needed to defeat Maple Heights in the final salvo of the regular season. And the team delivered.

The Tigers beat Maple Heights 21-12 on Friday night. Heights High claimed the Lake Erie League championship with the win, secured a postseason birth, and swept their way through league play to claim their league title.

The Tigers will likely play Mentor High, the top seed in Division I, Region 1. This is Heights High's first trip to the postseason since 2015.
