Heights Resident Carjacked At Gunpoint

Police are investigating an armed carjacking that happened last week in Cleveland Heights.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — A Cleveland Heights resident was carjacked at gunpoint on Thursday, police confirmed.

The resident was backing his car into the driveway when a man approached the vehicle, pulled out a gun and demanded the keys to the car. The resident handed over the keys and the suspect got into the car and drove off, police told Patch.

The suspect was a thin man, in his 20s. He was approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall. He was wearing a fleece hat, a black mask with red stripes, dark colored clothing and tan pants.

The car was recovered by police on Friday. Officers found the vehicle in front of a home on Harris Road in Cleveland.

Captain Chris Britton said there have been no arrests made in this case, but the investigation into the carjacking is ongoing.
