How To Support Cleveland Heights Businesses During Coronavirus

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — Cleveland Heights' three major commercial districts were all impacted by Gov. Mike DeWine's order closing bars and restaurants to the public. However, carry-out and delivery services are continuing.

To encourage continued purchases from local businesses, Cleveland Heights city officials waived parking fees citywide. Many notable establishments continue to offer retail purchases in their businesses.

"It’s important that people in our community support retailers other than the grocery store for supplies. Retailers are staying open to support the community and their employees, but they cannot stay open and keep employees employed if they do not get a healthy amount of business," Adam Fleischer, owner of the Wine Spot, told Patch. The Wine Spot continues to sell beer and wine to customers.

Some local retailers sell their products online, like CLE Urban Winery. Orders for their products can be placed on their website and shipped anywhere in Ohio (but not out-of-state).

"Please know that every bottle of our wine or gift card that you purchase during this time will make a huge difference in our ability to recover and reopen. Thank you so much! Be safe and be well!" Destiny Burns, owner of CLE Urban Winery told Patch.

The leaders of the Cedar Lee Special Improvement District said many of the restaurants in the neighborhood are offering carry-out and many can ship food to a resident's door.

"You can also purchase gift cards now, to use at a later date. Zagara’s Marketplace offers grocery deliver to your home via Presto Fresh," the Cedar Lee Special Improvement District leaders said.
