I-271 Construction Could Impact East Side Drivers

Northeast Ohioans who live east of Cleveland could be impacted work on I-271 next week.

MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OH — Construction on I-271 will shutter a much-used highway on-ramp for part of next week, the Ohio Department of Transportation announced.

Crews will be resurfacing I-271 between Mayfield Road and I-90. This will cover stretches of the highway in Highland Heights, Willoughby Hills and Mayfield Village. Work should be completed in October.

As crews move to a new phase of construction, the following closures will be implemented next week:

  • Mayfield Road ramps to I-271 north will be closed starting 9 p.m. on Monday through 5 a.m. Tuesday
    • The detour for westbound traffic will be I-271 south to Cedar Road to I-271 north.
    • The detour for eastbound traffic will be SOM Center Road north to Wilson Mills Road west to I-271 north.
