Kareema Cooper Pleads Not Guilty To Charges That She Murdered Her Baby

Kareema Cooper pleaded not guilty Tuesday to murder and other charges related to the death of her 6-week-old baby.

Kareema Cooper pleaded not guilty Tuesday to murder and other charges related to the death of her 6-week-old baby. 

Cooper, 40, of Cleveland Heights, had her first appearance Tuesday in Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas. 

In addition to pleading not guilty to various charges including murder, involuntary manslaughter, reckless homicide, felonious assault and endangering children.

Cooper will be held on a $500,000 bond.

WKYC reports that the baby's death was caused by a lethal dose of antihistamine in February.

The next step is a pre-trial hearing. No date has been set for that hearing yet.
