Karma Kings At Lakeview Cemetery, Home Repair Resource Center Classes And More Events This Week

Here are five events this week in Cleveland Heights.

It's Monday, and that means we've put together this list of things going on in Cleveland Heights to help make your week a little brighter, easier and more fun. For more things to do this week, look at the Patch calendar of events.

1. Learn About Local Government

The Cleveland Heights City Council Committee of the Whole meets at 5:45 p.m. Monday in the executive conference room at city hall. That's a fancy way of saying the city council gets together and discusses issues important to the community.

The meeting is open to the public, so stop in and learn about how government works.

2. Karma Kings Concert At Lakeview Cemetery

The Karma Kings will play a free concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday on the lawn of the Garfield Monument. Pack a picnic and come and relax with friends. Parking and admission is free. The Mayfield Gate is located at the corner of Mayfield Rd and Kenilworth in Cleveland Heights.

3. Community Development Block Grant Public Hearing

The Cleveland Heights Citizens Advisory Committee has scheduled two public hearing Tuesday, Aug. 13, to consider applications from local groups seeking to obtain federal funding.

See a list of groups that applied and then come by city hall at 7 p.m. Tuesday for the first public hearing.

4. Class On Credit & Mortgages At HRRC

The Home Repair Resource Center is hosting a free class on credit and mortgage rates at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12, at the Lee Road Library.

Free and open to residents of all communities. Reservations required; call (216) 381-6100, ext. 13.

5. Coventry Concert Night

The Hudson Chamber Players will perform "Schubert Cello Quintet in C Major D" at the Coventry Library branch Monday, Aug. 12, at 7:30 p.m.

The concert is free and no registration is required.
