Lake View Cemetery To Host First Annual 5K
The First Annual 5K Run Through History is set for Aug. 19, and participants are welcome to register on race day.

The will host its first annual 5K Run Through History Sunday, Aug. 19.
The event will take place on the historic and beautiful grounds of the cemetery, which has land in Cleveland Heights, East Cleveland and Cleveland.
Those interested in participating can pre-register at www.hermescleveland.com by 9 a.m. Aug. 17 and join the 1 mile walk for $15 and the 5K for $20. Mailed entries must be received by Aug. 15.

Walkers and runners can also register the day of starting at 7:30 a.m. near the Mayfield entrance in Cleveland Heights. Each event costs $5 extra the day of the race. The 1 mile walk begins at 8:30 a.m., and the 5K event starts at 9 a.m.Â
The first 200 to enter will receive a T-shirt. The cemetery will also provide refreshments and prizes on the front lawn of the Garfield Monument.Â

Proceeds from the run will benefit the Lake View Cemetery Foundation.
