CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — Fans of the Heights Tigers football team may face unusually long lines to enter Friday night's game against Glenville. That's because the district has recently added metal detectors to the entry gates of the Heights High stadium.

In a brief statement posted on the district's website, officials said the school system received a grant to implement "added safety and security measures at its major sporting events." Starting Friday, that will mean metal detectors scanning fans going to home football games.

"This action is to ensure the safety and security of students, parents, staff, and community members" the district said on its website. "School security staff and administrators appreciate your patience, as they utilize this new security tool for the first time."
