New Head Volleyball Coach At Heights High

A former collegiate, Division I volleyball player will take over the program.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — Khaliah Watts has been named the new head volleyball coach for Heights High School, the district announced this week. She was formerly the head coach of Shaker Heights High from 2009 to 2014.

“We are excited to have Khalia lead our volleyball program” said CHUH Athletic Director Joe D’Amato. “Her vision of building a program from the youth level on up matched what we are looking for in all our programs. Her experience as a player collegiately at Cleveland State will certainly benefit our players looking to compete at that next level. Having coached in the Lake Erie League and knowing what it takes to compete will allow her to hit the ground running.”

Watts graduated from Shaker Heights in 1997. She then played college volleyball at Cleveland State, a Division I program. She got her bachelor's degree in communications from the university in 2002.
