New TV, Film Streaming Services Available With Heights Libraries
Classic movies, concert films, indie films, and British murder mysteries are all available for nothing more than a library card.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — The Heights Libraries recently launched four new, free digital collections. Card carrying members of the library system can access the collections through the library's website, day or night.
“Heights libraries now offers three new movie and TV streaming services: Acorn TV, which specializes in British and Australian moves and television shows, like Doc Martin and all kinds of British mysteries,” said Heights Libraries Deputy Director Kim DeNero-Ackroyd.
“Then there’s Kanopy, which offers items from the Criterion Collection, including classic movies from directors like Ingmar Bergman and Akira Kurasawa, and all kinds of documentaries and art films. And then IndieFlix, which is just what it sounds like — independent films and documentaries that promote social causes," DeNero-Ackroyd added.

In addition to those services, the Heights Libraries also offer a new full-length concert film and music documentary streaming service called StingRay Qello. Performances and in-depth films on artists like Miles Davis, Imagine Dragons, Frank Sinatra, and Beyoncé can be accessed through the service.
These new offerings supplement the library system's existing collection of digitally accessible ebooks, audio books, comic books, and magazines.

“I think the best thing about our online collections is the fact that you can access them at any time of the day, and from anywhere,” said DeNero-Ackroyd. “As long as you have access to the internet and have a device like a smart phone or a tablet, you can be watching a movie or a concert, or reading a great book. It’s kind of like having the library in your living room or in your pocket.”
