Power Outages: 3,000 Cleveland Heights Residents In The Dark

After a spring snowstorm hit northern Ohio, many residents were left without power.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — More than 3,000 Cleveland Heights residents are without power Wednesday morning.

Power should be restored to the majority of FirstEnergy customers by 4 p.m., according to the company's power outages website.

Much of Northeast Ohio was hammered by a spring snowstorm on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. The snow weighed down tree branches and brought down power lines across the region. As of 8:30 a.m., more than 23,000 people in northern Ohio were in the dark.

There's a 30-percent chance snow continues to fall through Wednesday evening and into Thursday morning, though little additional accumulation is expected.

Temperatures should climb into the upper-40s on Thursday, helping melt away the spring snow cover.

By Friday and Saturday, temperatures should have returned to the upper-50s, giving way to traditional spring rain and warmth.
