Power Outages In Cleveland Heights Persist Tuesday Afternoon

Downed trees and bad weather have left residents in the northern part of the city without electricity. Power may not be restored till 2 a.m.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — More than 120 FirstEnergy customers in Cleveland Heights are still without power Tuesday afternoon. The majority of the outages appear to be concentrated in the northern portion of the city now, near Noble Road.

FirstEnergy is currently estimating that the majority of neighborhoods will have power back Wednesday morning, at about 2 a.m. Of course, current forecasts show additional storms slated to hit Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday.

Inclement weather and downed trees are being cited as the reason for the outages. Monday night's storms hit Cleveland's east side hard. Nearly 860 FirstEnergy customers in the city were powerless before midnight on Monday. Most of those outages were concentrated on the city's east side, in neighborhoods like Glenville, South Collinwood, and Fairfax.
