Shooting In Cleveland Heights: 42-Year-Old Hit In Stomach
A 42-year-old man was shot in the stomach during a dispute on Preyer Avenue.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — A 42-year-old man was shot on Preyer Avenue in Cleveland Heights on Tuesday night.
The 42-year-old was shot in the stomach, according to Cleveland Heights Police Chief Annette Mecklenburg. When officers found him, they gave him first aid until EMS arrived and took him to the hospital. He is in stable condition currently, Mecklenburg said.
Investigators believe the 42-year-old was visiting the mother of his child on Preyer. He then got into an argument with the woman's current boyfriend, Elliot Williams police said.

The 42-year-old pulled out a knife and threatened Williams, Mecklenburg said.
Williams then got his gun and shot the 42-year-old, Mecklenburg added.

Williams is currently in police custody. At this time, he has only been charged with having a weapon under disability, Mecklenburg said. Williams will make his initial court appearance when his bond is set, police said.
