Shooting In Cleveland Heights: Man Accused Of Attempted Murder
Police said a 28-year-old fired a gun at a car with three people inside.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — A 28-year-old man has been accused of attempted murder after shooting at a car full of people in Cleveland Heights on Sunday.
According to police, Kenneth Harris, 28, faces charges of attempted murder and felonious assault. He will make his first appearance in court on Tuesday.
The charges stem from an early morning shooting which occurred Sunday.

At 4:15 a.m. on Sunday, three people went to visit a resident at an apartment building on Euclid Heights Boulevard. When the trio arrived, the resident was fighting with her boyfriend, according to Police Chief Annette Mecklenburg.
When the boyfriend began physically assaulting the resident, one of the visitors fired a gun into the air to break up the fight, police said. The three visitors then left the apartment. As they were getting into the car, the boyfriend got a gun and began shooting at their car, police said.

One of the bullets hit one of the visitors in the leg, police said. She was treated at a hospital, but her injuries were not life threatening.
The boyfriend was later identified as Harris. He was taken into custody by Cleveland Heights police on Tuesday morning.
The police department is continuing to investigate the shooting and additional charges could be filed, Mecklenburg said.
