1 Charged In Fatal Cleveland Heights Park Shooting
Izaia White has been accused of murder, Cleveland Heights police announced.
CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — Izaia White has been accused of murder in connection with a shooting at Denison Park on Tuesday evening.
White, 22, faces charges of aggravated murder, murder, three counts of felonious assault, tampering with evidence and having weapons under disability. His first appearance in court will be 10 a.m. Friday, Cleveland Heights Police Chief Annette Mecklenburg announced.
On Tuesday evening, gunfire broke out at the basketball courts at Denison Park in Cleveland Heights. Jeremiah Moore, 25, from Cleveland, was wounded in the violence. He was rushed to University Hospitals, where he was later pronounced dead.

White was also shot during the gunfire, Mecklenburg said. He was hit in the shoulder and then taken to a hospital to recover.
Investigators believe White and Moore knew each other prior to the shooting and this was not a "random incident," Mecklenburg said.
