'Skeleton Crew' To Open At Dobama Theatre In January

The Cleveland Heights-based company will perform the Rust Belt-set play about a faltering auto plant.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — Dobama Theatre's next show will be "Skeleton Crew." The play takes place in an automotive plant on shaky ground, and the few remaining workers come together to decide what they'll do if the plant goes under.

The show will have preview performances on Jan. 22 and will then open on Jan. 24. The production will run through Feb. 16. Performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays, 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets range in price from $32 to $35. Student, senior and military discounts are available.

A pay-what-you-can performance will be held Jan. 26.

"Skeleton Crew" will be produced under the leadership of Dobama's Artistic Director Nathan Motta and Managing Director Trevor Wise. The director for the play is Nina Domingue. The cast is as follows:

  • Ananias J. Dixon as Reggie,
  • Robert Hunter as Dez,
  • Lisa Louise Langford as Faye and
  • Mary-Francis Miller as Shanita

Skeleton Crew takes place in a Detroit automotive plant that’s on shaky ground. Each of the few remaining workers are trying to figure out how to move forward if their plant goes under. Shanita has to decide how she'll support herself and her unborn child, Faye has to decide where she'll live, and Dez has to figure out how to make his ambitious dreams a reality. Power dynamics shift as their manager Reggie is torn between doing right by his work family and by his own.
