Cleveland Heights Council Approves Appointment of Finance Director
Tom Raguz, who has served as acting finance director since Tom Malone retired in February, was appointed to the role at the Cleveland Heights City Council meeting Monday night.

Acting City Manager Susanna Niermann O’Neil announced at Monday's (Aug. 20) Cleveland Heights that Tom Raguz has been selected as the new finance director for the city.
Raguz started working for Cleveland Heights in April 2011 when he was hired as the assistant finance director, O'Neil said. He was appointed acting finance director in March 2012 when announced he was retiring at the end of February.
"During the last few months, Mr. Raguz has proven himself to be conscientious, fiscally responsible and very knowledgeable regarding finance and budgeting," O'Neil said.

The city manager is responsible for appointing the finance director, but it must be approved by council. City Council unanimously supported the appointment.
Before working for the City of Cleveland Heights, Raguz worked for the Ohio Auditor's office from 2005 to 2011, first as an assistant auditor and then as audit manager.

Raguz attended Regis University in Denver and has a master's in business administration.Â
