Trash Cans Coming To Cleveland Heights: More Details Released

Cleveland Heights residents may not get their shiny new trash and recycling bins until October.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — The switch to automatic trash collection from cans will soon be implemented in Cleveland Heights.

Currently, Cleveland Heights residents must put bagged trash and recycling on the curb during their assigned collection day. Residents have long complained this process has led to loose trash drifting through the city and increased wild animal problems.

The city plans to install an automated trash can collection system in December, a city official said, but before residents can stop leaving bags of trash on their curb, they'll need to collect city-issued trash and recycling carts.
